Carolyn Beard is a doctoral candidate in the Study of Religion and Jewish Studies at the University of Toronto, where she studies the Jewish-Christian encounter and the problem of evil. A graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Divinity School, she is a is a Minister of the Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA). She spent the 2018-2019 academic year at the Edith Stein Archive with a Fulbright Germany study/research grant. In addition to tracing Stein’s political activity during the Novemberrevolution, she documented her pilgrimage across Europe to the spaces and places important to the life and legacy of Edith Stein.
